Bogota producer Manuel Cortes makes autobiographical street house: leans rhythms culled from life, filtered through zones of bass, acid, ballroom, warrior funk, and tripped-hop. Like the narcotic medication his moniker evokes, Lunate's tracks shiver and pulse, numbed by the metropolis. The songs are stories; "Pawn Shop Romance" sparkles on a flashy runway groove but is about "people who make choices where they sell out true happiness for comfort and wealth." Across 8 cuts Far Shores unravels late nite truths and dancefloor introspections, molting muted percussion-and-sample symbioses. Recorded in Turkey, Colombia, and beyond.
